Peach Drawing Step 9 Colour in Your Peach

Welcome to our Peach Drawing Tutorial. We are going to help you to draw a peach in a few easy steps, follow our pictures and time lapse video to help you.

All you will need is a pencil, paper and of course this helpful tutorial!

As ever we will take you through step by step, starting off with light pencil lines which you can go over with bolder darker lines, either with marker or a thicker darker pencil.

Peach Drawing Step 1 Sketch the Outline of Your Peach

Start off by sketching the outline of your peach drawing in the middle of your page. Think of the shape as roughly circular but with a little indent at the top, and a curved almost triangular shape at the bottom. A peach could also be considered as a slightly plumper heart shape.

Try to make sure your peach is as symmetrical as you can manage, but remember Nature isn’t perfect!

Check out the picture or the video to help you with this.

Peach Drawing Step 2 Draw the Indent At the Top of the Peach

Now you can draw in the indent that your stem will come from. It is shaped like bird wings stretched out.

Peach Drawing Step 2

Peach Drawing Step 3 Draw the Split on the Right Hand Side

Peaches and nectarines have a split down the middle so you can go ahead and draw it in now. Depending on the angle the peach is sitting at the split will be in different places. We have chosen to draw our split on the right hand side, but you could put it down the middle or more to the left. Just remember there will be a slight curve to your peach split because the fruit is a round shape.

Peach Drawing Step 4 Add in the Stem Of Your Peach

At this point we are going to add in the stem of your peach. This will look like a slightly more curved lower case ’n’ shape with a little circle at the top. You can rub out the pencil line where it overlaps with the first outline you drew.

Again check the picture or video to help you.

Peach Drawing Step 5 Draw in One Leaf At the Top of the Stem

Now you can draw in a leaf sweeping down from the top of your stem. We have chosen to draw it on the right, but you could have a leaf on the left or even two leaves on the right and the left.

Peach Drawing Step 6 Draw the Midrib of the Leaf

Now it’s time to add in the midrib of the leaf. You are going to add the veins branching off from it in the next step.

Peach Drawing Step 6

Peach Drawing Step 7 Draw the Veins on Your Peach Leaf

You can now draw the veins branching out from the midrib of your leaf. The easiest way to do this is to think of a V shape on its side with the point of the V touching the midrib of the leaf. You can draw 4-5 of these veins or a couple more if you like.

Peach Drawing Step 7

Peach Drawing Step 8 Go Over Everything in Darker Lines

Once you are happy with your whole peach shape you can go over your lines with a marker or darker pencil lines.

Peach Drawing Step 8

Peach Drawing Step 9 Colour in Your Peach

The last step involves colouring in your peach in nice bright yellow and red colours. Your stem will be brown and your leaves green. For the purposes of authenticity you could even add in a little peach fuzz as the picture shows!

Peach Drawing Step 9

This is a lovely little drawing exercise for beginners, and good fun too!
