Christmas Tree Drawing Easy Tutorial Step 1 Draw the Top of Your Tree

At the top of your page draw an upside down V (or an incomplete triangle shape) as shown in the picture. This is the top of your Christmas Tree. Later you can add a star on the top or a Christmas angel if you like.

Christmas Tree Drawing Easy Tutorial Step 2 Add in a Jagged Line to Form a Cone-Like Shape

This is a really easy step and involves drawing a jagged line at the bottom of the upside down V which will give you a cone-like shape. Check the picture or time lapse video to help.

We will go on to use this rough shape to make the middle and the bottom sections of your Christmas tree drawing as well.

Christmas Tree Drawing Easy Tutorial Step 3 Reproduce the Bottom Half of the Cone For the Middle Section

You’ll need to draw a similar shape for the middle section – obviously without the point of the cone. It will need to be a little bigger than the first shape so that it spreads out to the left and the right. See the picture below and the video at the end to help.

Christmas Tree Drawing Easy Tutorial Step 4 Draw the Bottom Section of the Tree

It’s now time to draw the bottom section of your Christmas tree. This is also a very easy step which involves repeating the same shape as Step 3 but slightly larger again so that it branches out to the left and right, beyond the endings of your middle section. Again make sure you have a nice jagged line to show Try to make sure your tree is as symmetrical as possible for the best result. Your tree is really taking shape now!

Christmas Tree Drawing Easy Tutorial Step 5 Draw the Trunk of Your Tree Underneath the Bottom Section

At this point it’s time time to draw the trunk of your Christmas tree. Think of it as a trapezium-like shape, or a smaller version of shape of your middle and bottom sections. Make sure it is neatly and symmetrically drawn underneath your tree’s bottom section in the middle.

Christmas Tree Drawing Easy Tutorial Step 6 Decorate Your Tree!

You can now add in the decorations on your tree. Be as creative as you like.

You could add a star onto the top of your tree (as we have done) or an angel if you prefer. Tinsel, baubles, Christmas chocolates, Christmas tags, little hanging snowmen or polar bears are all options! This is your opportunity to really make this drawing your own. We have gone for baubles and tinsel so feel free to copy what we have done if you aren’t sure.

Christmas Tree Drawing Easy Tutorial Step 7 Colour in Your Tree!

For your final step you can colour in your tree. Remember greens and reds are the main colours of Christmas! You can colour in your baubles and tinsel whatever colour you like, and even add in Christmas lights if you like!

Your tree will probably be green (we have used both a light and dark green colour for contrast) but you can definitely get as creative as you like here, just like you would in real life with your actual Christmas tree.

You can also add in presents underneath if you want or some Christmas candy!
